This role ensures optimal planning, execution, and continuous improvement of supply chain activities, including demand planning, production scheduling, inventory management, and logistics coordination. Job Purpose:
The Regional Supply Chain Manager will oversee the end-to-end supply chain operations within the designated region. This role ensures optimal planning, execution, and continuous improvement of supply chain activities, including demand planning, production scheduling, inventory management, and logistics coordination. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence, align supply chain strategies with business objectives, and ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Supply Chain Planning:
- Develop and implement regional supply chain strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
- Conduct demand forecasting and capacity planning to meet market needs while minimizing costs.
- Analyze market trends, customer requirements, and supply chain performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
- Production and Scheduling Management:
- Oversee production planning and scheduling to ensure alignment with demand forecasts and customer orders.
- Collaborate with plant operations teams to optimize production schedules and reduce lead times.
- Monitor plant capacity utilization and coordinate adjustments as needed.
- Manage regional logistics operations, including inbound and outbound transportation, warehousing, and distribution networks.
- Negotiate contracts and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers to ensure cost-effective service levels.
- Monitor delivery performance and address any delays or disruptions to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders.
- Implement inventory policies and practices to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing obsolescence and excess inventory.
- Analyze inventory turnover rates (DIOH) and aging reports to improve inventory health and reduce slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
- Develop and execute action plans for slow-moving inventory to improve inventory efficiency and free up working capital.
- Ensure inventory practices comply with corporate and regulatory standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, including planners, schedulers, and logistics coordinators.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability within the supply chain team.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supply chain effectiveness and efficiency.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management, highlighting performance, risks, and improvement initiatives.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for supply chain disruptions or inefficiencies.
- Partner with sales, marketing, finance, and operations teams to ensure supply chain alignment with business goals.
- Participate in regional and global supply chain projects, sharing best practices and innovations.
- Support the integration of new systems and technologies, leveraging SAP S/4 HANA, to enhance supply chain performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with a focus on regional operations.
- Proven track record of managing production planning, logistics, and inventory in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Leadership and team management skills with a focus on developing high-performing teams.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across diverse teams and regions.
- Project management experience with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, practices, and tools, including demand forecasting and ERP systems, particularly SAP S/4 HANA, and advanced Excel.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
- Understanding of logistics regulations and trade compliance requirements
- Ability to travel within the region as needed (10–25% travel).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- OT1D (On-Time Delivery Performance): Percentage of orders delivered on time against the requested delivery date.
- Logistics Cost (US$/kg): Total logistics cost per kilogram of material shipped.
- Inventory Turnover (DIOH): Days of Inventory on Hand, reflecting inventory efficiency and turnover rates.
- Inventory Health: Aging and percentage of slow-moving inventory relative to total inventory.
Work Availability
Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work Monday- Friday during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
