Job Purpose:
The Regional Manufacturing Manager role will be a visionary and dynamic site leader to transform the Mt. Vernon manufacturing site into the partner of choice for demanding customers various markets, while also supporting the strategic development and improvement of the 3 other sites located in Canada, US, and Brazil. The Regional Manufacturing manager will provide guidance for the entire production team and act as a role model for the line managers and all other employees. This role will ensure safe, high-quality and cost-efficient production of polymer sheets and films, and will lead a workforce of approximately 200 employees and manage a multimillion $ OPEX and CAPEX budget.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensuring highest standards of personal and process safety.
- Management and control of all production related activities, including planning, organization and monitoring of all production processes.
- Manage, coach, and further develop the production team, including hiring and integrating new team members.
- Develop short/mid/long term strategies to strengthen the capabilities and cost position of the site.
- Drive further development and implementation of continuous improvement actions to ensure efficient and stable operations.
- Developing CAPEX and maintenance plans, ensuring on-time and in-budget execution.
- Adherence to schedules, budgets, and production targets.
- Enforce consistent standards and KPIs metrics across the production lines.
- Actively engage with other POLYVANTIS sites to ensure best practice exchange generating value creation opportunities.
- Track record to achieve top quartile operations KPIs (availability, output, yield, production costs, recordable incidents, absenteeism, etc.).
- History of developing and successfully implementing transformation programs in manufacturing environment, resulting in a tangible step change in performance
- Ability to create a strong team with a diverse workforce. Willingness to regularly engage in a constructive dialogue with employees on the shopfloor to establish a high-performance culture, course-correct unsafe or unproductive behaviors.
- Experience in building a Manufacturing leadership team of A-players, sharing a high level of ambition, transparency, and team work to jointly deliver on targets.
- Ability to balance a “hands-on” approach and leading through others by strong influencing skills, therefore inspiring people to exceed the minimum expectations.
- Strong delivery, completion, and outperformance mindset. Someone with a strong “ownership” mentality who is driven, has a disciplined and consistent approach to execution and will "to go the extra mile".
- Strong grasp of financial metrics, using this knowledge to establish a data-driven and fact-based problem-solving approach.
- Well-versed in applying structured ways of work problem solving to drive productivity, e.g., Six Sigma, Lean or equal tools. Strong knowledge of using statistical tools for analysis.
- Collaborative team player with track record to optimize cross-functional KPIs together with the Supply Chain and Commercial organization.
- A person committed to drive the highest Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality standards.
- Preferred experience in the plastic industry and in a Private Equity owned business, but open to other backgrounds mainly in B2B Industrial goods manufacturing.
- Willing to work in a global team, exchanging best practices, supporting each other as one team.
- “My business” mindset with common sense approach, capable to see not only the manufacturing picture but the business picture and critical aspects to it.
- Minimum - Bachelor degree in (Mechanical, Electrical, Technical, Chemical) -MBA preferred.
- Six Sigma trained/certified desirable and Lean Manufacturing experience desirable.
- A proven Leader with 5-10 years of experience as site leader of a manufacturing site or multi plant site with 150+ employees.
- Ability to travel both US and Internationally
Work Availability
Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work Monday- Friday during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
